SIDELIGHT TOWER

Roll your lights on stage and lift them up with ease.

All-in-one Sidelight towers for transport and stage lighting

Install your fixtures in the Admiral Sidelight tower, roll it into position, raise the ladder and start lighting the stage. The system allows fixtures to remain mounted during transport, so lighting positions can be prepared in advance and deployed quickly on site.

This all-in-one solution combines transport, positioning and fixture mounting in a single practical system. Once the tower is placed on stage, the telescopic ladder can simply be lifted by hand to the required height, reducing setup time and simplifying stage preparation.

The Sidelight tower is designed for theatre luminaires and other professional stage lighting fixtures. The tower has a base height of 200 cm, with a telescopic ladder that can be extended by an additional 100 cm, providing extra reach when required.

Depending on the lighting setup, the ladder position can be symmetrical or asymmetrical. A symmetrical configuration is ideal for compact fixtures such as LED PARs, blinders and strobes. The asymmetrical configuration shifts the ladder within the frame, creating additional front clearance for fixtures such as profile spots and allowing more precise focusing angles.

The towers are available in 60 cm and 80 cm width versions to accommodate different fixture sizes and lighting setups.

Telescopic ladder

The telescopic ladder forms the core of the Sidelight tower and provides the main mounting structure for lighting fixtures.

The ladder consists of a rigid steel frame fitted with two fixed hanging tubes — one at the top and one at the bottom — providing stable mounting points for luminaires. Two additional adjustable hangers with fork sets are included and can be positioned at different heights within the ladder.

Thanks to the pre-drilled hole pattern in the ladder frame, these hangers can easily be repositioned to suit different fixtures or lighting angles. This flexible system allows lighting designers and technicians to mount a variety of fixtures and place them exactly where needed.

Once installed, the fixtures can remain mounted to the ladder during transport and setup, allowing lighting positions to be prepared as complete units.

Pull handles

The telescopic ladder is raised using pull handles on both sides of the tower. These handles allow the ladder to be lifted smoothly and in a controlled manner, extending the tower height by up to 100 cm.

Having pull handles on both sides enables two operators to raise or lower the ladder simultaneously, improving control and stability during the lifting process.

For safe operation, the ladder can be loaded with a maximum of 40 kg during lifting. Once the ladder has reached the desired height and is secured with the locking pin, the total load capacity increases to 100 kg.

An integrated automatic safety lock provides additional protection during operation. If one of the orange pull handles is accidentally released while lifting or lowering the ladder, the safety system engages automatically and prevents the ladder from dropping.

Adjustable roller wheels

Inside the tower frame, the telescopic ladder is supported by integrated roller wheels that guide the ladder during lifting and lowering.

These wheels allow the ladder to slide smoothly within the frame while maintaining stability and alignment. To ensure consistent performance over time, the wheels are adjustable.

If small tolerances develop through use, the wheels can be easily adjusted to remove any slack. By pulling the adjustment cord aside, the adjustment point becomes accessible. A simple turn with a screwdriver allows the wheel position to be fine-tuned, ensuring stable and controlled ladder movement.

Extra tubes for shinlights

For additional lighting positions, the Sidelight tower can be equipped with optional Sidelight tower tubes that allow fixtures to be mounted lower in the tower.

These tubes are installed in the lower section of the tower frame and create a convenient shinlight position, which is often used in theatre lighting for low-angle side lighting effects.

The tubes are mounted using support forks on the omega profiles of the tower frame, creating a secure mounting point for fixtures.

For safe operation, the shinlight tubes must be removed before lowering the ladder or transporting the tower.
